About Us

The future of our democracy depends on the participation of every eligible voter.

Grupo Conexión is a technology-based platform founded to empower Spanish-speaking Latino voters by bridging the communication gap between them and political campaigns that align with their values and are relevant to their voting districts. Our mission is to increase political engagement and representation among Latino communities by providing resources that make it easier for Spanish-speaking voters to participate in the democratic process. In addition to benefiting Latino voters, our platform provides political campaigns with an effective tool for engaging with and mobilizing this key, and rapidly growing demographic. With a focus on promoting inclusivity and accessibility, we aim to become the go-to resource for Spanish-speaking Latino voters and a valuable partner for political campaigns looking to connect with this important voting bloc.

Our Story

Founder, Edison Gómez-Krauss is a first-generation Mexican American with experience as a medical interpreter for families of neurodivergent children and as an immigration court interpreter. He has also worked on local, state, and federal campaigns and served on the executive boards of both the Riverside County Democratic Party and the California Democratic Party. Through this work, it became clear that there was a significant need to connect with Spanish speakers in their language, but oftentimes, campaigns were hindered by a lack of sufficient, proficient Spanish-speaking volunteers. Moreover, these volunteers were often underpaid or not compensated at all, which made sustained engagement challenging. Grupo Conexión was created to help campaigns effectively engage with Latino communities by providing a direct, accessible channel for Spanish speakers to stay informed on political issues and events. Through this platform, we aim to bridge the gap between campaigns and the Spanish-speaking electorate, ensuring they have the information and resources they need to participate, while also ensuring that the volunteers who help facilitate this communication are both properly trained and fairly compensated for their work.
